Accessibility statement

Commitment

The Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique in the Nordic Countries is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, in line with the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.

To that end, the site was built with the following measures:

• a semantic structure of headings, lists and page landmarks, with a “Skip to content” link at the top of every page;
• full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus indicator;
• colour contrast between text and background meeting level AA;
• alternative text on informative images and captions in the galleries;
• relative font sizes that respect browser preferences and allow zooming to 200 % without loss of content;
• forms with explicit labels and status messages announced to assistive technology;
• Portuguese and English versions, with the language of each page declared to the browser;
• instruction pages (document checklists, step-by-step guides) prepared for printing.

Known limitations

Despite the Embassy’s efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible:

• PDF documents inherited from the previous website (visa application form, decrees, consular registration form and emergency certificate) were not produced with accessibility tags and may not be read correctly by screen readers. The Embassy is reviewing these documents; in the meantime, the essential information of each one is summarised on the page that provides it.
• The embedded map on the contact page is provided by Google Maps and its accessibility is outside the Embassy’s control. The full address is given as text on the same page.
• Videos embedded from YouTube may lack captions or audio description.
• Event posters published as images always come with a text description of the event on the same page.

This statement was prepared on 16 September 2026 on the basis of a self-assessment carried out when the site was rebuilt. It will be reviewed whenever the site undergoes significant changes.
